STMicroelectronics Releases STM32 Microcontroller

ST's 8-pin STM32 microcontrollers (MCUs) are available now, and the compact, economical package allows simple embedded development projects to take advantage of the performance and flexibility of 32-bit MCUs.

The new four STM32G0 microcontrollers are the perfect combination of 8-pin economy and 32-bit performance, unique in the market, based on 59 DMIPS 64MHzArm® Cortex®-M0 + CPU, up to 8KB of RAM and 32KB of flash memory, high Performance peripherals include a 2.5Msps ADC, high resolution timers, and a high speed SPI interface. Flexible I/O pin mapping and MCU internal features allow designers to easily upgrade end product functionality without sacrificing board space or bill of materials costs. The highly stable internal oscillator achieves ±1% accuracy over a wide temperature range and wide voltage range, saving developers external clock components.

Market expectations such as battery capacity limits, eco-design rules or electrical energy efficiency ratings are around energy-sensitive applications. Thanks to the proven low-power design features of the STM32 MCU family, the 8-pin STM32G0 microcontroller will be sensitive to energy consumption. The field of application has gradually gained the upper hand.

The new MCU inherits all the features of the STM32G0 family, with up to 100 pins, up to 512KB of flash memory, and additional high-performance analog peripherals and security features to help developers simplify future product upgrades and feature expansion.

The new 8-pin STM32G0 MCU is available now in a 6mm x 4.9mm SO8N package, and the 8-pin Discovery Kit STM32G0316-DISCO provides fast, cost-effective evaluation to reduce development effort.

The STM32G031J6, STM32G031J4, and STM32G041J6 basic series of three MCUs are also SO8N packages, adding hardware AES accelerators, secure boot or firmware update secure memory areas, additional timers, and 96-bit unique device IDs than the Value Line series.
